Had a great visit to the field station of the Fundación para la Conservación de los Andes Tropicales (FCAT) in the Mache-Chinduí ecological reserve, where Fernando is a director. The foundation is involved in biodiversity research, reforestation and helping to develop more ecologically sustainable livelihoods and food systems for the local communities, including families that have lived within the reserve boundaries since before the reserve was established in 1996.
